The Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden
The Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden is located on 66 acres along the south-east bank of White Rock Lake, only minutes from downtown Dallas. Seasonal flowers, decorative shrubs, trees, and plant collections are included in the property’s fourteen world-famous exhibits. The gardens also feature outdoor festivals, concerts, art displays, and educational activities throughout the year, as well as guided tours of the grounds.
This magnificent tourist attraction was envisaged in the early 1930s but did not become a reality until 1984, when it was laid out on the grounds of a mansion completed in 1939. The magnificent sculptures and fountains in sections like Toad’s Corner, Texas Town, and Pecan Grove add to the excitement.
Make sure to take a walk around White Rock Lake Park as well. This massive lake, which encompasses an area of over 1,000 acres and is surrounded by 10 miles of hiking and biking paths, is noted for its great bird and wildlife watching, as well as fishing and sailing opportunities.
